How to: Self-Care

Updated: Oct 20, 2019

I've been struggling a lot recently with my health, so spending time listening to my body is a real must for me. That being said, I sometimes feel like simply splashing out on a new top (although therapeutic) is not always the best way I can show myself some care. Here are 4 things I do that really make a difference to my wellbeing.

1. Weighted Eye Mask

You've heard of the weighted blankets that feel like a hug for your whole body. But, if like me, you're a broke twenty-something who can't afford a cup of coffee let alone a bead-filled gravity blanket, never fear! My bestie recently gifted me a weighted eye mask, which can be heated or chilled and is basically a hug for your face. I suffer from chronic migraines as well and using this has really helped to relieve the pressure and pain in my head. HERE's the one I use!

2. MONQ Essential Oil Diffusers

I'm obsessed with these. Made of purely essential oil and water (no toxins, nicotine, or any of that junk), it's literally a pocket-size diffuser pen, packed full of essential oil goodness. Breathe in through the mouth and out through the nose - it's so relaxing and puts me in a great headspace. They come in loads of varieties, my personal favourites are Ocean and Happy, but I'm itching to try Vibrant as well! You can click HERE to browse the range for yourself!

3. Bubble Bath

Always in favour of a bubble bath. Throw in your favourite bath bomb or a few drops of a bath oil and relaaaax. This is one of my favourite things to do when I'm feeling rough or tired and need to spend some time with me. I like to listen to podcasts in the bath as well, which brings me to...

4. Empower Yourself

There are some seriously empowering podcasts out there and I've written a whole blog post dedicated to that particular, fierce, female-led vibe. But there are other ways too. Doing something you love, something you know you're good at. Learning something new, like a language or knitting! Whatever it is, don't shy away from success, take it and start feeling your own power!

That's all from me today! What do you like to do when you need some self-care? Let me know in the comments below or drop me a line on social media. You'll find all my profiles linked at the top of the page.
